According to the statistics the area has most people who don’t drive than those that drive. With what I see daily, the community sustains its self in a good way. It’s near the city and most people walk to work if they have a job. The only thing that might be alarming is the rate of cigarettes smoked per day as most people in the area do not work. Also overcrowding is an issue as the area houses more immigrants than natives. With big rooms for rent in multi rented properties people tend to overcrowd in a room let alone the whole house. What is not surprising is the large number of residents per houses in the area. Parking is not much of an issue for those who drive and with two primary schools close by and about five more 2 miles away its seems the community is cover education wise.

I live in the Milton Keynes North East constituency. My local MP is Mr Mark Lancaster and he is a conservative. My local council’s Milton Keynes Council. Our constituencies are represented mostly by the Conservatives followed by Labour.
As the election fast approaches I don’t blame the people who not bothered with voting, because nothing ever changes except the lifestyle of the MP’s voted into power. It’s frustrating most of the times and if its change that we hope to see it will be when the main political parties are out of the equation.
I don’t think my vote will change anything much but its something that should be done. Maybe Labour should unite with the Liberal Democrats in this election and we’ll see some change.

In recent years it has been noted that transport contributes to 20% of total greenhouse emissions. The trends in travel demands have increased with more people preferring not to walk in favour of trains, planes, buses and mostly cars. Cars are now known to be trend setters. Recently commuters in Bedfordshire have been making headlines demanding more trains so that they can travel frequently.

The Government has been implementing transport policies. It has been noted that these policies are often targeted at short car journeys and with that vehicle efficiency has increased. With many car manufacturers going for hybrids and battery power, the question has always been about the disposal of the used battery units. These are heavy and far harder to dispose than normal car batteries.

Rural England has also been fast disappearing because of new roads, bypasses and new rail tracks being built. We then ask ourselves if it’s worth going to work by car, find time parking it, sit in traffic on the way back and to burn that extra fat drive to and from the gym. All we can do is walk to the bus stop; get a bus with less traffic get to work on time and save that gym membership money and costs towards running a car.

Maybe its time the government start making using the pay as you drive scheme.

Christmas is a time when most people expect to be with their families and be happy. The decorations, the lighting used and the food used can be justified as it only happens once a year. It is a time that brings people together and I think the energy and food is justified in a way. If people had the kind of celebrations every month because it suited them then it would be chaos.
